His education, career, and cultural experiences prepared him to be an effective Creative Writing Teacher and Writing Coach, having earned his Master in Creative Writing (poetry, plays, fiction, Memoir) from the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, a Doctorate in Jurisprudence (University of Wisconsin-Madison), a Master of Divinity (Life Coaching and Theology) from Regent University, and a bachelor degree from Morehouse College (English and Journalism).

One-To-One Creative Writing/Coaching Session

Gregory affords private creative writing coaching sessions for individual writers, who prefer individual coaching space on Teams. The student writer must inform Gregory what creative writing form interests him/her/them/us. For instance, if the writer is interested in sonnets, please email Gregory at gpowell65@gmail.com and inform him.

This two-hour session will include one hour of theory/lecture, followed by one hour of student writing. During the second hour, the student writer will write a poem, begin a short story, begin a memoir, or start writing a play. Then, he will Coach and offer keen insights into the student writer’s work.

One-To-One Creative Writing/Coaching Session

Creative Writers who prefer working in a group of writers, Gregory facilitates a group setting on Teams. This two-hour session will be divided as follows: the first hour Gregory will lecture and share theory the first hour on one particular type of poetry for sample (blank verse, free verse, sonnet, villanelle, etc.)., and then student writers will be afforded thirty (30) minutes to right. Then, Gregory and the group will analyze the work product of the writer for the final thirty (30) minutes.

Each session will focus on one particular type of poetry; element in a short story (plot, metaphor, characterization, etc.); or part of a play (dialog, plot, proof reading, character building, etc.). Therefore, a writer must chose the topic of writing that interests them when they access the payment center at ……. and review that monthly Calendar that Gregory tenders.
